
In the afternoon of October 22, Hu Chunhua, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Party Chief of CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, came to inspect Shantou TCL Deqing Environmental Protection Development Co., Ltd., accompanied by Party Chief of CPC Shantou Municipal Committee Chen Maohui and Mayor Zheng Renhao. Hu received warm welcome from TCL Group Senior Vice President Shi Wanwen, General Manager Wu Dongju of TCL Environmental Protection and Resources, and staff and employees at TCL Deqing Company.
At TCL Deqing Company, Hu first watched an introduction video about Guiyu Circular Economy Industrial Park and listened to a report on the construction status and the future plan of the industrial park. Then, accompanied by Shi and Wu, Hu site visited the production workshop, where he watched the dismantling line for refrigerator and television. Hu asked about the production process and reuse of disassembled parts. In the production workshop, Shi briefed Hu on the company profile and development plan of TCL Deqing Company and stated that TCL shall upgrade its deep processing to improve the economic benefit and social benefit.
Hu reiterated on the importance of environmental protection. He hoped that TCL, as a large electronics manufacturing enterprise in Guangdong province, will make due contribution to environmental protection. Shi promised that as a pilot project in Guiyu Circular Economy Industrial Park, TCL Deqing Company will play an active role in promoting the construction and development of the park and will also play a leading role in environmental protection. TCL also aims to provide more job opportunities to the local community with this project and promote the development of circular economy in the region. Shantou TCL Deqing Environmental Protection Project began construction in August 2012 and the project was completed in February 2013. In April 2013, the company got the qualification certificate in "waste electric and electronic products disassembly" from Shantou Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau and in September 2013 it received a qualification status review for environmental fund from a panel of experts on behalf of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the Ministry of Finance. The panel was satisfied with all criteria of TCL Deqing Company. Recently, the Ministry of Finance released the third batch of qualified companied for waste electric and electronic products dismantling on government fund subsidies. TCL Deqing Company became one of the winners. Shantou TCL Deqing Company and Tianjin TCL Aobo Environmental Protection and Development Company Limited will serve as two dismantling bases in Northern China and Southern China respectively, with a total capacity of 1.2 million units, equals to 30,000 tons/year.
